Wolfgang Kaes

Wolfgang Kaes was born in the Eifel region in 1958. He studied political science and cultural anthropology, financing his studies through jobs including forestry work, road construction, truck driving, taxi driving and work as a police reporter. He later wrote reportage for Stern, Die Zeit, Die Zeit-Magazin and other publications. For many years, he was chief reporter of the Bonner General-Anzeiger. In 2012, Medium Magazin named him Reporter of the Year, and in 2013 he received the Henri Nannen Prize for investigative research. Beginning in 2003, he also turned his journalistic research into novels; in 2020, he devoted himself entirely to writing books.
