Wolfgang Hohlbein, born in Weimar in 1953, is a German author. Before becoming a full-time writer, he worked as an industrial clerk. His breakthrough came in 1982 with the young-adult novel *Märchenmond*, published jointly with his wife, Heike; the book won the Fantastik Prize of the city of Wetzlar. Hohlbein has written novels for children, young adults, and adults in genres including fantasy, mystery, horror, science fiction, thrillers, and historical fiction. His best-known works include *Das Druidentor*, *Anubis*, *Infinity. Der Turm*, and the *Enwor* series. His books have been translated into numerous languages, making him one of the most successful German-language authors of fantastic fiction.
