Wolfgang Eckhardt was born in Wiesbaden in 1934 and trained as a photographer. During his training, he began working freelance as a sports reporter. For many years, he worked for the Wiesbadener Kurier newspaper as a picture editor covering a range of sections. His photographic archive includes press images as well as architectural, urban and landscape photography, along with numerous photographs of sports and theater. Eckhardt published several illustrated books and city guides about Wiesbaden.
