William Mitchell

William Mitchell is an economist and professor. He served as director of the Centre of Full Employment and Equity (CofFEE) at the University of Newcastle in Australia, as Docent Professor of Global Political Economy at the University of Helsinki, and as a visiting professor at Kyoto University. Mitchell is regarded as one of the founders of Modern Monetary Theory (MMT). His books include »Eurozone Dystopia« (2015), »Reclaiming the State« (2017), and »Macroeconomics« (2019), co-written with L. Randall Wray and Martin Watts. His research has covered macroeconomics, labour-market and regional economics, econometric modelling, and economic development.
