Whitley Strieber

Whitley Strieber (born 1945 in San Antonio, Texas) is an American writer. He has written more than forty novels and nonfiction books, including The Wolfen, The Hunger, and Communion. The Wolfen was adapted into the film Wolfen, while The Hunger became the film The Hunger, starring David Bowie and Catherine Deneuve. With James Kunetka, Strieber wrote the novels Warday and Nature’s End. He recounted alleged encounters with extraterrestrial beings in the books Communion, Transformation, and Breakthrough. He also co-authored The Coming Global Superstorm with Art Bell, a work that inspired the film The Day After Tomorrow. Strieber’s writing combines science fiction and horror with autobiographical accounts and spiritual themes.
