Werner Schwab

Werner Schwab was born in Graz in 1958 and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. His first plays, known as the “Fäkaliendramen” (“faecal dramas”), brought him widespread attention in 1991 and established him as a sought-after playwright in the German-speaking world. After only a few but highly productive years as a dramatist, he died on New Year’s Eve 1993.
