Werner Fritsch

Werner Fritsch, born in 1960 in Waldsassen in Upper Palatinate, is an author of prose, drama and radio plays, as well as a filmmaker. His novel “Cherubim” was published in 1987. His other works include “Chroma,” “Hydra Krieg,” “Bach,” “Wondreber Totentanz,” “Steinbruch” and “Stechapfel.” Fritsch has realised works for the stage, radio and cinema. His work has received, among other honours, the Robert Walser Prize, the Hörspielpreis der Kriegsblinden and the Else Lasker-Schüler Prize. His radio play “Enigma Emmy Göring” was named Radio Play of the Year 2006 and received the ARD Radio Play Prize in 2007. His radio poem “Faust Sonnengesang I” received the Grand Prix Marulić and the Grand Prix Nova in 2013.
