Waltraud Herbstrith

Waltraud Herbstrith was a German Carmelite who used the religious name Sister Teresia a Matre Dei OCD. She studied German and modern languages in Würzburg, Heidelberg, and Freiburg. In 1953 she entered the Carmelite convent in Cologne, joined the work of the Edith Stein Archive in 1962, and was one of the co-founders of the Edith Stein Carmel in Tübingen in 1987. From 1964 onward, she worked as an author and contributor to the press and radio and wrote numerous books.
