Walter Mair

Walter Mair is an author and photographer whose work focuses on mountain and hiking literature about East Tyrol. He wrote numerous books, including the “Osttiroler Wanderbuch” and the illustrated volumes “Osttirol. Zauber der Bergseen,” “Osttiroler Almen,” and “Osttirol. Porträt einer Landschaft.” He also served for many years as chairman of the Lienz section of the Austrian Alpine Club. In 2005, his “Osttiroler Wanderbuch” received the Golden Book award from the Austrian Booksellers’ Association after selling more than 25,000 copies.
