Wallace Stevens

Wallace Stevens (1879–1955) was an American poet and essayist. He was born in Reading, Pennsylvania, and died in Hartford, Connecticut. After studying law at Harvard, he initially worked as a journalist in New York. From 1916, he worked for an insurance company, becoming its vice president in 1934.
