Wallace J. Nichols

Wallace J. Nichols (1967–2024) was an American marine and conservation scientist. He worked as a research associate at the California Academy of Sciences and founded or co-directed OceanRevolution.org, SEEtheWILD.org, and LiVBLUE.org, initiatives focused on ocean conservation, conservation travel, and reconnecting people with nature. Nichols authored or co-authored more than 50 scientific articles and reports. He earned a master’s degree in environmental policy and economics from Duke University’s Nicholas School and a doctorate in wildlife ecology and evolutionary biology from the University of Arizona.
