W. C. Heinz, born Wilfried Charles Heinz (1915–2008), was an American reporter and sportswriter. As a sports correspondent, he published articles in SPORT magazine, LIFE, The Saturday Evening Post, Esquire, True, Collier’s and Look, among other publications. He also co-wrote the successful novel “MASH.” In 2001, Heinz was inducted into the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association Hall of Fame, followed by the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2004.
