Volker M. Heins

Volker M. Heins, born in 1957, is a political scientist. He has worked at universities in Frankfurt am Main, New Delhi, Cambridge, Massachusetts, Montreal, Jerusalem, and New Haven. Heins held a fellowship at the Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities in Essen and taught political science at the University of Duisburg-Essen. He was a co-founder of the Academy in Exile and a member of the Council for Migration. His publications include “Der Skandal der Vielfalt. Geschichte und Konzepte des Multikulturalismus” (2013) and “Offene Grenzen für alle. Eine notwendige Utopie” (2021), which was nominated for the NDR Nonfiction Book Prize.
