Viveca Sten

Viveca Sten (born 1959 in Stockholm) is a Swedish lawyer and crime novelist. She studied law at Stockholm University and worked as chief legal counsel for the Swedish post office and the Danish-Swedish postal group Posten Norden. She began publishing crime novels in 2008. She is best known for the Sandhamn series featuring detective Thomas Andreasson, which provided the basis for the television series “The Sandhamn Murders” (“Mord im Mittsommer”). Her series about the Åre murders was also adapted for television. Since childhood, Sten spent her summers on the archipelago island of Sandhamn, where her family has owned a house for several generations. Her books have been translated into numerous languages.
