Viktorija Tokarjewa

Viktorija Tokaryeva was born in 1937 in Leningrad, now Saint Petersburg. After a brief period working as a music educator, she studied screenwriting at the Moscow Film School. Fifteen films were made from her screenplays. She published her first short story in 1964 and subsequently devoted herself to literature. Tokaryeva is regarded as one of Russia’s best-known writers.
