Victor Grossman

Victor Grossman was born in New York in 1928 as Steve Wechsler. He worked as a journalist, writer and translator. As a U.S. soldier, he fled persecution during the McCarthy era and adopted the name Victor Grossman in East Germany to protect his family. He earned degrees from Harvard University and Karl Marx University in Leipzig.
