Verena Schmidt

Verena Schmidt was born in Dresden in 1982. She studied ethnology and political science in Tübingen and subsequently worked as a tour guide for ten years. During that period, she traveled extensively in North America, Southeast Asia, New Zealand, Tibet, Nepal, and Morocco. She trained as a Wilderness First Responder and learned to fly light aircraft in Alaska and tattooing in the Philippines. She later worked as a hiking guide and author and as a speaker on travel, adventure, and western Canada.
