Verena Lueken worked for many years as an author and critic in the features section of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and spent several years as the newspaper’s cultural correspondent in New York. Her subjects included film, literature, feminist issues and American topics. She received the International Journalism Award and the Michael Althen Prize for Criticism for her journalistic work. Her nonfiction books include »New York. Reportage aus einer alten Stadt« (2002) and »Gebrauchsanweisung für New York« (2005; revised edition 2010), which became a bestseller. Her debut novel, »Alles zählt«, was published in 2015, followed by »Anderswo«.
