Uwe M. Schneede (born 1939) is a German art historian and exhibition curator. Before becoming director of the Hamburger Kunsthalle, he taught modern art history at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. He directed the Hamburger Kunsthalle from 1991 to 2006. His publications include a history of twentieth-century art (2001) and a monograph on Max Beckmann (2009). In 2010, he curated the exhibition “The Most Beautiful Museum in the World” at Museum Folkwang in Essen.
