Uwe Fricke, born in 1942, is a German pharmacologist. He studied pharmacy in Hamburg from 1964 to 1967 and received his doctorate from the University of Mainz in 1970. He then worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Pharmacology at Hannover Medical School until 1975, where he completed his habilitation that year. From 1976, he worked at the Institute of Pharmacology at the University of Cologne, becoming an associate professor in 1981 and a university professor in 1983. Fricke is a specialist pharmacologist certified by the German Pharmacological Society and a specialist pharmacist for drug information. He also served on the German Pharmacopoeia Commission and chaired its Pharmacology Committee.
