Ulrike Jureit, Dr. phil., is a German historian. She worked as a research associate at the Hamburg Institute for Social Research and at the Hamburg Foundation for the Advancement of Research and Culture. From 2000 to 2004, she directed the research and exhibition project “Crimes of the Wehrmacht: Dimensions of the War of Extermination, 1941–1944” at the Hamburg Institute for Social Research and served as spokesperson for the second Wehrmacht exhibition. Jureit’s research and publications focus on the social and cultural history of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Her publications include the co-edited volume *Thinking in Space: Friedrich Ratzel as a Key Figure in the Formation of Geopolitical Theory* (2021).
