Ulrich Wickert

Ulrich Wickert, born in Tokyo in 1942, is a German journalist and author. He worked as an ARD foreign correspondent in Washington, New York and Paris, and subsequently presented the news program “Tagesthemen” for 15 years. He also became known for critical contributions to the television magazine “Monitor”. Wickert has published numerous nonfiction books and novels, including the crime series featuring investigating judge Jacques Ricou. His notable books include “Vom Glück, Franzose zu sein”, “Gauner muss man Gauner nennen” and “Der Ehrliche ist der Dumme”. His honors include the Dresden Literature Prize and the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, 1st class.
