Ulrich Schnabel

Ulrich Schnabel (born 1962) studied physics and journalism in Karlsruhe and Berlin. He worked for many years as a science editor at the weekly newspaper Die Zeit, writing on subjects at the intersection of the natural sciences, the humanities and the social sciences, including religion and consciousness research. His work received several awards, including the Georg von Holtzbrinck Prize for Science Journalism in 2006 and the Werner and Inge Grüter Prize for Science Communication. His book The Measurement of Faith was named Science Book of the Year 2009. Other works include Leisure: The Happiness of Doing Nothing (2010), a bestseller and longseller, and Confidence: The Power of Inner Freedom (2018).
