Ulja Krautwald

Ulja Krautwald, born in Hamburg in 1958, is a sociologist and author. After studying sociology with a focus on medical sociology, she attended a naturopathic school and trained in shiatsu. She worked in medical sociological research, at a public health authority, in a fertility medicine practice, and in adult education. Together with Christine Li, she wrote the bestseller *Der Weg der Kaiserin* (*The Way of the Empress*). She also edited the anthology *Die Kaiserin und ich* (*The Empress and I*). Krautwald has two children.
