Tuvia Tenenbom was born in Tel Aviv in 1957 and comes from a German-Jewish-Polish family. He studied, among other subjects, English literature, applied theatre studies, mathematics and computer science, as well as rabbinical studies and Islamic studies. Tenenbom worked as a journalist, essayist and playwright, writing for newspapers in the United States, Europe and Israel, including DIE ZEIT. In 1994, he founded the Jewish Theater of New York. His books include “Allein unter Deutschen” (2012), “Allein unter Juden” (2014), “Allein unter Amerikanern” (2016), “Allein unter Flüchtlingen” (2017) and “Allein unter Briten” (2020).
