Trudi Canavan

Trudi Canavan was born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1969. Before becoming known as a writer, she worked as a graphic artist and designer for various publishers. In 1999, she received the Aurealis Award for Best Fantasy Short Story. Her debut novel, The Magician’s Guild, the first volume of The Black Magician trilogy, was published in Australia in 2001. Her other well-known works include the Sonea trilogy, which is set in the same world.
