Tobias Straumann is an economic historian whose work focuses on European monetary, currency and financial history, particularly in the twentieth century. He studied in Bielefeld, Paris and Zurich and carried out research or spent periods at the University of California, Berkeley, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Oxford. At the University of Zurich, he taught in the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Economics and headed the MAS Applied History postgraduate program. His publications include “1931 – Die Finanzkrise und Hitlers Aufstieg” (2020) and “Unruhe im Kleinstaat – Der schweizerische Generalstreik im internationalen Vergleich” (2022, with Martin Senn).
