Tobias Nanz

Tobias Nanz (born 1976) is a cultural and media scholar. From 2001 to 2008, he was a research associate at the Gerd Bucerius Professorship for the History and Theory of Cultural Techniques at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. He earned his doctorate there with the dissertation *Grenzverkehr. Eine Mediengeschichte der Diplomatie*, published in Zurich and Berlin in 2010. His research topics have included the media history of diplomacy, the “red telephone,” media of crisis and de-escalation, and the history of aviation.
