Tobias Buck

Tobias Buck, born in 1975 in Jugenheim, Germany, is an author and journalist. He studied law at Humboldt University of Berlin, graduating in 2001. As a Financial Times correspondent, he worked in Berlin, Jerusalem, Brussels and, from 2012 to 2017, Madrid. There he reported on Spain’s economic crisis and the Catalan independence movement. His book After the Fall: Crisis, Recovery and the Making of a New Spain was published in the United Kingdom by Weidenfeld & Nicolson in 2019. His journalism has received awards including the British Press Award, the Foreign Press Association Award and the Harold Wincott Award.
