Tim Slessor (born 1931) is a British filmmaker, presenter, traveller and author. He became known as the chronicler and camera assistant of the Oxford and Cambridge Far Eastern Expedition, which travelled from London to Singapore in 1955–56. After graduating in geography from the University of Cambridge, he joined the BBC in 1957 and worked there for more than five decades. He made documentary films around the world and received a Peabody Award. After his BBC career, he wrote freelance, including for National Geographic. His book “First Overland” became a bestseller in England.
