Tim Ingold

Tim Ingold (born 1948) is a British anthropologist. He studied social anthropology at Cambridge, taught in Helsinki in the 1970s and held a professorship in Manchester from 1990. In 1999, he took up a chair in social anthropology at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. He received an honorary doctorate from Leuphana University Lüneburg in 2015. His books include “Anthropology: Why It Matters” and “A Short History of Lines”.
