Tilman Jens (1954–2020) was a German journalist, author, and filmmaker. He worked as a freelance author and filmmaker for broadcasters including ARD, Arte, and 3sat, and published a total of eleven books. His best-known works include “Demenz. Abschied von meinem Vater,” about the illness of his father, the literary scholar Walter Jens, as well as “Vatermord – wider einen Generalverdacht,” “Freiwild – die Odenwaldschule,” and “Vermächtnis – Die Kohl-Protokolle,” co-written with Heribert Schwan. He also wrote about figures such as Goethe and Mark Twain, as well as political and social issues.
