Thorsten Loch

Thorsten Loch, born in 1975, joined the German Bundeswehr in 1995. His professional career includes many years as a research associate at the Military History Research Office and its successor, the Center for Military History and Social Sciences of the Bundeswehr, as well as teaching assignments at the University of Potsdam and the Helmut Schmidt University/University of the Bundeswehr Hamburg. He received his doctorate in 2006 with a thesis on a contemporary-historical topic. Loch has published several works on German military history in the 19th and 20th centuries. He has three children.
