Thomas Thiemeyer (born 1963) studied geology and geography. Before turning to writing, he worked as an illustrator, creating artwork for games, young-adult books and book covers. His debut novel, the adult science thriller “Medusa,” was published in 2004; his first young-adult novel, “Die Stadt der Regenfresser,” followed in 2009. His work includes science thrillers and young-adult series, which have received several awards and been translated into numerous languages. His stories draw on the tradition of classic adventure novels and often explore submerged cultures and mysterious threats.
