Thomas Rackwitz

Thomas Rackwitz, born in 1981 in Halle (Saale), studied literary studies, history, English studies and contemporary history at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. After working as a staff editor, he became a freelance author and translator in 2011. He has published several poetry collections and children’s books, including “an der schwelle zum harz” (2014), “neophyten” (2020) and “in meinem garten steht ein blauer eisberg” (2022). His awards include the Féile Filíochta Award (2007), a Walter Bauer Fellowship (2008), the Halle Writer-in-Residence Fellowship (2015) and the Harz Literature Prize. He also wrote the lyrics for the band “Crows on Holiday”, which he co-founded.
