Thomas Gordon (1918–2002) was a psychologist who practiced in the United States and a pioneer of humanistic psychology. Drawing on his work with children and adolescents, he developed a practical model for communication and nonviolent conflict resolution. His work focused on communication, education, and interpersonal relationships. His best-known book is *Familienkonferenz*. Gordon’s books were translated into 25 languages, and his model was used in 43 countries. He was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1997, 1998, and 1999.
