Thomas de Padova, born in Neuwied in 1965, studied physics and astronomy in Bonn and Bologna. He worked as a science editor at the Tagesspiegel and in 2014 was a journalist in residence at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science. His books include Leibniz, Newton und die Erfindung der Zeit, Das Weltgeheimnis, about Johannes Kepler and Galileo Galilei, the Einstein biography Allein gegen die Schwerkraft, and Alles wird Zahl. Wie sich die Mathematik in der Renaissance neu erfand. In 2021, he received the Media Award of the German Mathematical Society.
