Tanya Stewner was born in 1974 in the Bergisches Land region of Germany. She began writing stories at the age of ten and studied literary translation, English and literary studies in Düsseldorf, Wuppertal and London. She initially worked as a translator and editor before making writing her main profession in 2010. She is best known for the children’s series Liliane Susewind, Alea Aquarius and Hummelbi. For the first Liliane Susewind book, she received the “Goldenen Bücherpiraten” award; the series was also adapted for the cinema.
