Tamar Noort

Tamar Noort, born in Göttingen in 1976, grew up in the Netherlands. She studied art and media studies and English at the universities of Oldenburg and Newcastle upon Tyne, and completed the Non-Fiction masterclass at the International Film School Cologne. Noort worked as a writer and documentary filmmaker for ARTE, ZDF and 3sat, including on science-related subjects. In 2019, she received the Hamburg Literature Prize for an excerpt from her debut novel, »Die Ewigkeit ist ein guter Ort«. She held fellowships, among others, at the Schöppingen artists’ village and the Worpswede artists’ houses. »Der Schlaf der Anderen« is her second novel.
