Tali Sharot earned a doctorate in psychology and neuroscience from New York University. She was a professor at the Institute of Experimental Psychology at the University of London and led its Affective Brain Lab. Her research has focused on how affect and emotions influence perception and behavior, as well as on memory, optimism, and decision-making. Her book The Optimistic Brain: Why We Cannot Help Thinking Positively was published in 2012.
