Taiye Selasi

Taiye Selasi is a writer and photographer. She coined the term “Afropolitan” to describe a generation of cosmopolitan people with African roots. Her first short story, “The Sex Lives of African Girls,” was published in the literary magazine Granta. She made her debut as a novelist with Ghana Must Go, published in German as Diese Dinge geschehen nicht einfach so. Selasi was born in London and grew up in Massachusetts; her parents were doctors and civil rights activists from Ghana and Nigeria.
