Susanne Hanika (born 1969 in Regensburg) studied biology and chemistry at the University of Regensburg, earned a doctorate in behavioral physiology, and worked as a scientist at the university’s Zoological Institute. She has published numerous crime novels, including the camping mystery series featuring Sofia and the “Hirschgrundis,” as well as romance novels such as the Lerchenbach series. Her own enthusiasm for camping informed her camping mysteries. She has also written books for young readers with her sister, Beate Teresa Hanika.
