Susanne Abel

Susanne Abel comes from a village in Baden near the French border. She initially worked as a childcare assistant and educator before studying at the German Film and Television Academy in Berlin. She subsequently worked as a writer and director on numerous television documentaries. Her debut novel, *Stay away from Gretchen*, reached the top of the SPIEGEL bestseller list. Further novels include *Was ich nie gesagt habe* and *Das Geheimnis der letzten Schäferin*.
