Stephen King

Stephen King (born 1947 in Portland, Maine) is an American author. His best-known works include “Carrie,” “It,” “The Shining,” “Misery,” “The Green Mile,” and the “Dark Tower” series. His books have been translated into more than 50 languages and adapted for film on numerous occasions. Before becoming a full-time writer, King worked as an English teacher. He has received numerous awards, including the National Book Foundation Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters in 2003, the National Medal of Arts and the Edgar Allan Poe Award for “Mr. Mercedes” in 2015, and the PEN America Literary Service Award in 2018.
