Stephan Orth (born 1979) studied English, economics, psychology and journalism. From 2008 to 2016, he worked as an editor in SPIEGEL ONLINE’s travel section. He subsequently became a freelance journalist and author. Orth received the Columbus Prize several times for his reportage writing. His books include the bestseller »Sorry, wir haben die Landebahn verfehlt« and the »Couchsurfing« series, including »Couchsurfing im Iran«, »Couchsurfing in Russland« and »Couchsurfing in China«. »Couchsurfing in Russland« received the ITB Book Award.
