Stefan Hertmans

Stefan Hertmans, born in Ghent, Belgium, in 1951, is a Belgian Dutch-language poet, playwright and novelist. His novel „Der Himmel meines Großvaters“ received the AKO Literatuurprijs and De Gouden Uil in 2014. „War and Turpentine“ was nominated for, among others, the 2016 International Booker Prize and the Premio Strega International. Hertmans’s work has received numerous honors, including the Prize of the Flemish Community for Prose.
