Stefan Berger

Stefan Berger is a social historian. He served as Professor of Social History and Director of the Institute for Social Movements at Ruhr University Bochum. He also chaired the Stiftung Geschichte des Ruhrgebiets and was an Honorary Professor at Cardiff University in the United Kingdom. His research has focused on the history of social and labor movements, industrial culture, the history of memory, historical theory, and German-British relations.
