Sophie Calle

Sophie Calle, born in 1953, is an internationally renowned artist. Her often autobiographical and controversial work combines conceptual art with formal constraints associated with the Oulipo tradition. Depending on the focus, she has been described as a photographer, conceptual artist, or writer, although none of these labels fully encompasses the range of her work.
