Simon Reynolds was born in London in 1963. From 1986 to 1990, he worked as an editor for the British music magazine Melody Maker. His books include Blissed Out: The Raptures of Rock, Generation Ecstasy: Into World of Techno and Rave Culture in America, Rip It Up and Start Again, and Retromania. He co-authored The Sex Revolts: Gender, Rebellion & Rock’n’Roll with Joy Press. Reynolds has also written for publications including The Wire, The New York Times, The Guardian, and Rolling Stone. In 2002, he launched the music blog Blissblog.
