Silvia Ferrara is an Italian philologist and professor of Aegean Cultures at the University of Bologna. Her research focuses on ancient scripts from the pre-Greek period. From 2018 to 2023, she led INSCRIBE (“Invention of Scripts and their Beginnings”), a project funded by the European Research Council that examined the invention and early development of writing.
